Less Than Ideal Thermostat Location
Hello everyone,
My thermostat is located on a wall shared with the garage. I have noticed this drastically effects the read temperature of my home. That said, the only other interior wall it can go to has a staircase on it and the only open space puts it above an aquarium...Which subsequently causes a measured temperature much higher than actual ambient air. Does anyone know of any affordable wireless options? I have a honeywell alarm system and service them myself so I am aware of the Z-wave technologies and not a huge fan of the integration. I would like something completely wireless or a way to insulate better to prevent cold/hot air from seeping through the wall.
Thanks,
Andrew

Schnieder controls which use to be barber Coleman do make and have technology. It's early and expensive but can be controlled via iPad or laptop. Try it. I think trane and honeywell might have this as well. I've used schnieder and it's amazing and efficient. You can also monitor energy type dashboard to track cost of operation.

I will look into the schneider. I believe honeywell has Redlink or something of the sorts. I was hoping for something basic with a receiver mounted somewhere and a control unit that can just move around. I don't really need the remote access and techy gadgets
