Need help installing thermostat on heat pump with furnace system

Hi guys, hoping someone can help me and save me a costly service call.

I recent purchased a foreclosed home. When purchasing I did have someone come out from a HVAC company and test the furnace and heat pump to make sure everything functioned properly.

They told me just some low voltage wiring needed to be reconnected and a thermostat installed (previous owner presumably took it). I have the complete wiring diagram for the heat pump as well as the furnace, thankfully they left that attached to the units.

I am confident that I have those wires hooked up correctly as I am a mechanic by trade and can read a wiring diagram. However some confusion came into play as I tried to install the thermostat as the wire colors did all match up and the instructions with the unit are unclear as Im sure most are.

It is a Hunter 44237 compatible with stage 1&2 heat pumps.

slots are as follows:

Rh
Rc
Y
G
W
(blank)
O
B
W2
Y2
(blank)
A

Wires I have include:

Red
Yellow
Green
White
Orange
Blue
Black

Here is how I currently have it wired:

Rh..............Jumpered to RC
Rc..............Red
Y...............Yellow
G...............Green
W...............White
(blank)
O...............Orange
B
W2
Y2
(blank)
A

However I have no idea where to put the BLUE or BLACK wires. Or if what I currently have is correct.

Sorry for the long post, any help would be greatly appreciated

Open the furnace and see what the black and blue wires are landed on. Then post back.

Blue is C and is not needed by your Hunter battery powered stat. Just tape it off.

Wires I have include:
Red
Yellow
Green
White
Orange
Blue
Black
You had a black here.... at the thermostat..... how could it not be at the furnace ? Maybe it's cut off.

The black and the white both run to the terminal/relay box on the W2 terminal for some reason. Everything runs through that box and then out to the furnace or heat pump. Not sure what it controls, that is why Im confused.

Can you guys read the wiring diagram I posted ok?

Thanks for the help

Connect the white to W-2 and tape off the black wire. It was previously used for emergency heat which the Hunter doesn't supply a manual activation.

The black and white are connected at the furnace.

When the outside unit goes to unthaw it will bring on the heat coils.

I left the blue and black unhooked. Still nothing works. I did fail to see that there is a yellow wire coming off the furnace that does not go anywhere and not on my diagram, but I assume it needs to go somewhere. I have yellow running to the relay box, heat pump, and thermostat, just not to the furnace

Where did you get a Hunter 44237 thermostat? I cannot see anything about one online.
