Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 wiring installation

Hi everyone,

I replaced a Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 thermostat recently with a unit I bought off Amazon. The new unit has wiring that was slightly different from my previous one. The old wall plate had separate "Aux" and "E" terminals and white and black colored wires going into each respective terminal. The new wall plate has a Aux/E terminal and I inserted both wires into this terminal. Everything seems to be working ok so far, but am I doing this right? Thanks.

sorry forgot to mention that they are both vision pro 8000s. Just that the new unit has a slightly different mounting plate...

Yes your wiring is fine. Did you set function 170 to 7 to match your heat pump with Aux heat system?
