Honeywell RTH6580WF Wi-Fi - have C wire, but the tstat screen is blank, no power

Hello all,

I just replaced my old digital thermostat, a Bryant TSTATBBSAC01 (not battery operated, not wi-fi) with the Honeywell RTH6580WF. I wired it up exactly the same way as instructed (wiring diagram on page 8), but the Honeywell does not turn on. The screen is just blank.

I then re-installed my old Bryant and everything just works fine; display screen, cooling call works, etc...So I'm assuming there's no blown fuse. HD gave me a replacement so I don't think it's a lemon.

I don't know why the Honeywell will not turn on. My old Bryant still works so I'm getting 24V from R & C right? I can't really test since I don't have a meter. So let's assume I'm not getting 24V, what would be my next step? Furnace is up in the attic so I'm not looking forward to that (LV heat); may just have to hit up Craigslist or Yelp tomorrow.

I'm a noob at this; been Googling for the past hour. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I forgot to take a wiring pic on the new tstat -- it's pretty much the same as shown on manual

Welcome to the forums.

I can't really test since I don't have a meter.
Without a meter everything is a guess. Go out to lowes or depot and pick up a $10-$15 analog meter.

Your wiring appears correct.
