Need help with thermostat wiring

Hi,
I am installing a LUX thermostat to replace my old York thermostat.
My old one had the following wires:
W- white
B- blue
G-green
R- red
x-brown
o-orange
y- yellow

new one has the following:
O
B
(it says use only O OR B, not both)
G
Y (jumped to W)
RC (jumped to RH)
W2
C

I installed the Orange wire into O, left the blue wire free to be taped off and installed the brown into C. Is that correct?

Thank you!

On some of the old stats B is your common, So I would land the blue wire on C of the new stat. X- brown I would tape off. Do you have back up heat in your furnace?

Yes, there is back up heat, we have a heat pump. In the manual for the new thermostat it said x or b might be the common
Appreciate the help!

Welcome to the forums.

With York.... it looks like X or B could have been used for Common. I'd also lean towards B as being the C and tape off X.

A model number of the stat would be needed for further help.
