Question Issue: Thermostat No Longer Recognizes Red Wire

I recently upgraded to a Nest thermostat. Everything installed fine with no issues and I've been using for about a month.

Yesterday a notice popped up on the Nest's screen saying it no longer recognized the red wire plugged into the Rc slot. I haven't changed anything and I don't believe anything should have triggered this issue.

I've tried the below changes with no results. After trying both methods I now have zero power going to the thermostat, so I can't do any further diagnosis.

ANY IDEAS!?

WHAT I'VE TRIED SO FAR

1. Re-stripped all wires and reinstalled.
2. Replaced the fuse in the furnace (although the original didn't appear to be blown).

WIRES INSTALLED

If you have a voltmeter check across Rc and C. Make sure there is 24 V.
