finding C wire for York electric furnace

I am trying to install a Honeywell wifi thermostat on an old York electric furnace. I need some help finding a C, which isn't a terminal on the furnace. Can you please see the picture and let me know where I may have luck? Worst case, can I tap into the transformer next to the terminals? I have a multimeter to test, just need some direction on how to confirm my C wire.

thanks!

Welcome to the forum! Use the B terminal (circled in white) to connect to the C on your thermostat. You have a thermostat cable with a red (Y) and white (B) wire. Those wires go outside to the a/c condenser. The white wire is the common wire that goes to the contactor.

Make sure to turn off power before making any wiring connections.

I assume you are planning on using the spare blue conductor in the 18/5 cable going to the Tstat.

Yes, I plan to use the extra blue wire to connect to the C wire on the furnace and Tstat. To verify, I assume the multimeter should read 24V across the R and B terminals?

Thanks guys!

Yes, that is correct. I would also verify the wire now connected to the B terminal goes to the condenser outside.
