Connecting W1 and W2 wires from furnace to thermostat

Is there a preferred wire to hook up in the thermostat and one to leave off? Can I hook both up the the W terminal? The AUX terminal is also the W terminal on the thermostat.

I understand that the W wires are for the heat and W1 is for first stage and W2 for the second stage. I replaced the Lux thermostat in the office with a Honeywell RTH2300B.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

Two Wires can signify two stage heating. What is the LUX model number ?
