Hi everyone, I was hoping you could give me a good recommendation for a thermostat that provide the best fan control. I have a 2 story house in Michigan with a single stage forced air furnace with ac. At night In the spring and fall, it is often cool outside and in the main level of our house but gets to warm on the second story where our bedrooms are. If I run the ac, it will often not turn on because the thermostat is on our main level. I can run the fan constantly and this keeps the air circulated nicely but seems like it is probably not quite efficient. Also, I am not the best at turning the fan on and off when needed. Ideally, I would really like a thermostat that would just keep the perfect temp the most efficient way possible. These are the 2 options I am considering so far but please add another options: * ecobee3 - It has remote sensors that I can put on both the main and second level. Does anyone know if it can just circulate the air when needed or will it just run the ac when the upstairs gets to warm? * Honeywell RTH9580WF - This one allows you to have a separate schedule on when to run the fan. This isn't automatic but seems like it would be really good still and this model is a much better price. I really have had a hard time finding the fan control options but there are other thermostats that does this like the nest.

I just installed an RTH9580, and everything works fine except, when it is in cooling mode and the AC turns on the burner turns on in the HVAC unit as well. I triple checked my wiring, and the unit shows no indication that anything is wrong. I only noticed it when the temperature went up instead of going down on cooling mode. The AC is definitely running, and the heat is definitely running both at the same time. The furnace is a Rheem Classic 90 Plus Gas forced air. The only way I could get my AC to work was to turn off the gas to the furnace. The heat mode works fine, the AC does not come on when in heat mode.
