Heat support on Honeywell smart thermostat

I have a York HVAC system w/ 2-stage cool (L1 and L2), heat pump (W1 aux. heat) and emergency heat strip (W2 Emer. Heat). Installation calls for W1 (aux heat) and W2 (emerg. heat) terminals on the thermostat. It does not look like the Honeywell smart thermostat supports this configuration based on the user manual- only W2 is supported. My required setup is as follows:

Please advise on how to wire the Honeywell smart thermostat so that is supports W1 and W2.

Welcome to the forums.

W1 is the Y1 connection activated without the O terminal being powered.
Basically your first step of heat is just the heatpump running. Your second stage is W2 or backup heat.

So... you don't need a W1 terminal for your setup.

The W1 wire from the condenser unit needs to connect to W2 on the stat, otherwise you will blow cold air in defrost mode.
