Thermostat setting for heat pump

Hi everyone,
Just moved to new house and it has a heat pump : carrier 336HCA 336A300 and Furnace is G51MP-36B-070-07 with a White & Rogers Thermostat 1F97-1277 Touchscreen Thermostat.
I am confused as to what setting to use , right now i have programmed it for Auto, but i see Cool, Off , Heat, Emer, Off. Fan is set at Auto at this moment.
I live in Vancouver , Canada and would like to know the proper setting. Cool now for summer? Auto ?

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums.

Some thermostats have the ability to switch from heat to cool or cool to heat by themselves.
I prefer to select the mode I want. Right now the mode is COOL. Leave the fan in the AUTO position.
