Help! Yet another Newbie Nest Question

Hi All,

I have a 2nd Gen Nest and an Aprilaire 600 attached to a Carrier Performance 93 Furnace. I was able to DIY the nest and get the heat/AC working fine, but for some reason I have never been able to get the humidifier working properly. I recently added the 90-290Q relay as recommended by nest still to no avail. I'm putting pictures below but am at my wits end. So questions for the pros:

1) is there another method of wiring this that I am missing?
2) is there a way to "hot wire" this setup so that anytime the heat runs the humidifier runs, bypassing the nest somehow?

Thanks in advance!

Last one

Close up of the panel. I do believe this is wired correctly per multiple diagrams found on here and the nest site. Please do correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks again!

Looks like the nest wiring good. I don't think you need that relay. Just use the HUM terminal on the control board.

Thanks

I'll give it a try. So from the humidifier i'll have white>C and red> ?? (you tell me which lug)

Then from Nest I'll have white>C again and * (brown wire) to same humidifier lug?

Let me know which one is the dedicated humidifier screw and I'll give it a shot.

Thanks in advance.

Got it! Thanks, you were right no solenoid needed. Not sure why this was such a pain, and can't believe i lived with 13% humidity for a year!

The isolating relay is only required if your humidifier has a separate transformer.

A Hum terminal has a different function from a DeHum terminal.
