Carrier 50QE900-NPWS Wiring with BOW together
Hello,
I'm attempting to replace my current non-programmable thermostat with a new Honeywell RTH6360. When I pulled the older Carrier off, I documented the wiring per instructions with a blue wire going to a slot labeled BOW1, but when plugging in the new UWP, I saw B/O and W were separate. I've tried plugging into each and neither kicks on the heat. Do I potentially need a jumper or something?

Welcome to the forums.
It's W or B/O function depending if you have a heat pump or a split A/C system and furnace.
On the new stat.....
If you have a furnace and split A/C..... you use W.
If you have a heat pump system.... you use O/B.
If you have a Ruud or Rheem heat pump..... you'd need to change the O/B programming to B. O is the normal default setting.
