Old Thermostat to Nest Gen 3 (How Old is it?)

I just bought a house with two old thermostats. I have installed thermostats before, but I was dealing with newer thermostats that were labeled.

This is a White-Rogers 1F56-477, and I am installing a Nest Gen3. I have a two story house with zoned HVAC (I'll be buying a second Nest for the upstairs soon).

Can someone help me with the wiring? What am I looking at here?

Also, I'd love to know how old this thermostat is if anyone knows!

Welcome to the forums.

Remove the three screws in the red circles. The stat will come off the sub-base and you will see the wiring. The arrow is pointing to the date code..... manufactured the 35th week of 1997.

Thank you for the quick response! That was my next question, how to remove?

I will remove tonight and should be smooth sailing unless I find surprises underneath.

Take a picture of the wiring on the sub-base. If you need help..... post it.

Here is the wiring, how should I wire this to the nest 3? The two yellow wires are throwing me off .

That second yellow wire is just a jumper. An internal wire for the stat itself.
You only have four wires coming out of the wall.

G -- green -- G
R -- red -- Rh
Y -- yellow -- Y1
W -- white -- W1
