Need new thermostat for dual fuel system

I was reading related posts but couldn't find the answer. We have dual fuel heating system - electric heat pump and natural gas furnace. The furnace was installed recently (replacement for the old oil one) and for unrelated reason (government grants) the heat pump was disconnected. It still works for the cooling but not for heating.
We obviously want to connect it back, and now I'm looking for a thermostat - the one that came with the gas furnace doesn't work for dual fuel system.

We don't need anything fancy - I'm looking for the good reliable programmable thermostat. Price is also a factor but not the deciding one.
Any recommendations?

I recommend a Honeywel TH8321R thermostat for your dual fuel application.
it is a reliable thermostat and, since it is part of the Honeywell Redlink family, you can add options if you choose at a later time.

A Redlink wireless outdoor temperature sensor would be a great addition to start with since it will allow you to lock out the heat pump below freezing and just use the gas furnace.
