WiFi thermostat install.

Iím installing a new WiFi thermostat in my 17 year old home. The current one is only using 4 wires, but the c wire(blue) is taped off at the thermostat. I looked in the wiring panel in the furnace and it not connected to the c terminal. I do see a white wire on the c terminal at the furnace that is going out to my AC unit. Can I assume itís safe to add the blue wire from my thermostat over the current white wire on the c terminal?

Welcome to the forums.

Yes..... you can add that to the other wire on the C terminal.

The white wire currently on the C terminal and the red wire of that cable that goes to Y or yellow is the line that feeds the outside condenser.
