I've been trying to figure out the wiring of my system by searching previous threads and had a few follow up questions.I am trying to install a Wyze thermostat (similar to Nest) https://wyze.com/wyze-thermostat.html
I currently have a Carrier M/N: 58CVA070 and the thermostat has V+ and Vg terminals. The line from the wall has Red, White, Yellow, Green, and Blue wires with the Red connected to V+, the White connected to Vg and the other 3 not connected to anything. The lines out of the EIM has a 2 wire R/W for V+/Vg and a 5 wire one for Rh, W/W1, G, Y/Y2, C. So which one of these lines is going to the stat? Are the 3 unused wires at the stat even connected to anything? Can you just use the 5 wires at the stat to connect my new one?

You need to determine what is connected to D1 and D2.
You need....
red - R
white - W
blue - C
yellow - Y
green - G
You have the bare minimum amount of wires.
You would not be able to control the D1/D2 item from the stat any longer
Your plan should work except for the black wire connected to D2. You need to trace that and see what it connects to. It may be a HRV or dehumidifier connection (slows blower speed).
I have a Carrier Infinity Thermostat that is giving me the "System Malfunction Call Technician" code when turn on the heater. It runs for about 10 minutes and then shows me this code. I live in Florida and don't use this feature very much.
The AC is working fine (yes I have used it in the past two weeks). I'm very handy just not sure what the problem might be.
The heater is gas.
I pushed the side button for three seconds and it said "Event Limit" and "Event Fault".
Thanks in advance for your help.
By the way, this is Michael's wife not Michael. I'm sure he would have worded this question much more professionally.
And he is the handy one not me!
We recently had a nest thermostat 3rd gen installed and I don't think it's programmed/wired correctly.
We had our HVAC system replaced 2 years ago and I was told we have a 2 stage heat pump and 2 stage electric heat unit.
The unit numbers are HRG1660S1M and HCG60V1M-1.
I have no idea how the previous thermostat was wired but the person who installed the nest seemed worried when we told them how much our electric bill was during the winter, he said it sounded like the heat pump was not coming on, only the heat strips. He set up the nest and left. We had to call him back because only cold air was blowing (I could hear the outside unit on). After he adjusted a few items the heat came back on and that was that. Now I don't see the outside unit coming on. I touched the copper pipes coming out of the unit after the vents were blowing hot air and they were ice cold.
Below are pictures for current nest wiring, outside unit wiring and diagram, attic unit wiring and diagram.
Since he said we have a 2 stage heat pump with 2 stage electric heat, I asked we the jumpers for w1-w2, o-r-ds and y1-y2 were still on, he said they need to be installed for relay delays and that they don't come on all the time.
Anyhow, if someone can confirm if this is correct or not I would really appreciate it!
