Toilet Stop Valve Leak

I am installing a new toilet. The supply line leaks around the threaded end of the stop valve. I have a compression fitting with a brass extension. The stop valve screws onto this extension. I've used teflon tape, but it still leaked ever so slightly. Would the direction the tape is applied to the threads make a difference?
Thanks in Advamce,
Chris

Just install a new supply line, one of those braided stainless steel flex lines, I use them all the time.

What Ron said, and don't use ANY teflon tape when you install it. You don't need to. The rubber seal inside the end of the supply line forms the seal.
