tub diverter
#1

My faucet in the tub still runs water when I pull up the diverter. There is plenty of water pressure in the shower but still water comes out of the tub faucet. I changed the tub faucet to no avail. Please help quick. I'm trying to sell my house. Thanks so much for your time. Janet Bakaitis

Hello: Janet
The problem may not exist with the faucet. Since you changed it or replaced it, take the focus off the faucet and try this.
Remove the shower head. Turn on the water and lift the diverter valve as normally done. Note any difference. Chances may be the water back pressure caused by the shower head, new or not.
Shower head may be causing to much resistence to the water flow. Thus the faucet diverter is dumping the excess out of the faucets diverter valve.
Just a guess here which may or may not resolve the problem. Intent is to take the focus off where the problem is thought to be and place the attention on another possible area....
