Shower Plumbing

When I pull up on the knob to have water go to the shower head in my bathtub, water still comes out of the faucet. How do I fix it?

Cool

Assuming that the shower diverter is on the tub spout, replace the tub spout with another one like it.
It will either unscrew counter-clockwise, or if it has a slot underneath near the wall, it will be held on by a recessed Allen wrench set screw.
Get a one-size-fits-all tub spout-with-diverter, and use what you need in the little kit.
If it screws onto a threaded fitting from the wall, wrap the teflon tape clockwise only around the male threads of the fitting.
Good Luck!
Mike
