3 valve diverter replacement

replacing valve in 3 valve diverter in shower head
The center valve in the three-valve diverter with shower head in our second bathroom is not providing the proper amount of water pressure for the hot water. What is the easiest way to remove and replace the valve and/or shower ensemble? I would appreciate a reply as soon as someone is able to, as we are trying to get it finished before a new roommate arrives.

Sounds like the diverter valve seat washer is either torn and causing a restriction or the diverter valve is not operating properly.
It is worth taking that center stem out and inspecting it. You do not need to turn water off at the main to do this.
Once you take it out, inspect the seat washer at the end of stem, then take your finger or a flashlight and inspect the seat in the faucet where seat washer mates with. If it isn't perfectly smooth, replace the brass seat and seat washer on stem, and reinstall using plumber's grease.

I'm not an expert, but I know newer ones have "scald protection" built in. This is adjustable. Since your problem is only hot water I'd check that first. If you can find the model of your fisture you can find the manual online with instructions to adjust this.
