Cannot remove hot shower faucet handle
I am having trouble removing the hot side faucet handle from my shower. The cold side handle came off easily after I removed the screw. Any ideas on what I can try to remove this handle. Also, I believe the stem may need replacement. What is the procedure for making this repair. All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You can get an inexpensive handle puller at a hardware store to pull the handle off, OR if it's plastic, you can just crush the handle with a pair of channel-locks (plug the drain to keep pieces from getting into it), and replace both of the handles (they aren't expensive either).
To remove the valve, and change the o-ring and washer on the end of the stem or the valve itself:
A. Turn off the main water.
B. Unscrew the valve counter-clockwise. If you can't reach the hex on the valve due to it being recessed into the wall, you will need a set of plumber's valve sockets to find the one that fits.
C. Replace the 0-ring and washer, or the valve.
D. Check the valve seat in the wall fitting for corrosion, and replace it also if necessary.
Good Luck!
