What's wrong with my shower?

We just moved in to a new house. The master bath has a shower handle similar to this:
http://www.homedepot.com/cmc_upload/...s/416980_4.jpg
However, mine is a little different in that you can only turn left, so the blue cold marker starts at the top and then gradually wraps around underneath turning to red/hot. But with mine, the further you turn it to the left, the colder it gets. In order to get hot water, you have to just barely turn it on. It works backwards. Any way to fix this?

You have a Moen Posi-temp valve, you have to turn the water off to the house, pull the cartridge out and rotate it 180 degrees reinstall it and that will solve the problem.

Take the handle off, the cartridge is under it, a clip hold the cartridge in place.

Does it matter which direction I rotate it?

No 180 degrees is 180 degrees.

Then after you rotate the cartridge 180, and reinstall it, rotate the center where the handle connects to 180 degrees also, this will set the cartridge to the correct shut off spot before you turn the water back on.

Also, it reads "Delta", not "Moen". Does this matter?

This is as close as I could get: http://www.deltafaucet.com/servlet/O...inal&model=622

I couldn't find a model number, only "Delta Monitor".

Is it the "Scald-guard" thing that's doing it?

You said the valve operates this way, you can turn it only, this one you show now is a ball type, this one you lift up and turn right and left for hot and cold.

Not knowing the correct valve you have, I can not find out if you can fix it on the valve it's self or if you need to open wall to fix this, your help is needed to determine what to do.

You need to identify what valve you have, look at all the valves shown on there web site.

Was this in response to my most recent posts, or my first incorrect identification of the faucet I have?

I'm not seeing anything in the installation instructions that will allow you to solve the problem without opening up the wall or going under the house crawl space and reversing the water lines.

See PDF.
