No Cold Water in Shower

Question?? What could be causing my shower to only have Hot water. If I try and use the cold water it just stops the flow of water?

You have a loose or broken stem on your faucet. Shut water off at the main and remove handle and remove stem to inspect.

I am having the same problem, only with no hot water. I have a Moen tub/shower. I have tried replacing the cartridge, but there still is no hot water. Please help!

If it is a single handle faucet, it could be the pressure balance shuttlecock. It is typically under a large cap with a screw slot on it. Take it out and clean it. Do not lubricate it.

RE :Moen Cartridge

I work with Moen cartridges on an almost daily basis, and they are very sensitive to sediment/debris in the system. If I had this problem (no hot water), I would first flush the hot water heater, if possible. I would then remove the cartridge in question, and flush and clean it. With the cartridge out of the shower valve, turn the supply back on briefly to flush the debris out of the shower valve, too. Replace the cartridge, check for proper operation.
