Shower temperature adjustment stuck

Hello,
I have a single knob shower turn on valve. I turn counter clockwise to turn on. Temperature is controlled by a separate lever that goes counterclockwise for hotter and clockwise for cooler. The problem is that the temperature control lever is stuck (will not move at all) on hot water. What is going on. Unfortunatley I am at work and forgot to check the manufacturer. Can anyone help?

You are describing a pressure balanced valve, and it sounds like calcium buildup is to blame.

It is either a Moen or Delta most likely, and once you let us know what you have, we can better help you.

I checked, and it is a Mixet. I think the cartridge is bad. Do you know where I can find out how to removed it so I can get the proper part to replace it? Thank you for all your help. Julie
