Clogged Tub Drain - Please help
Hi,
My bathtub has suddenly stopped draining. Currently there is standing water about 2 inches deep that is not draining.
I have removed the overflow and tried to use a hand auger. The auger is 1/4" x 15 feet. I didn't have much luck with that.
I removed the drain cover and tried to remove any blockages with a coat hanger and the hand auger.
I also covered the overflow with a rag and tried to plunge the drain. Again no success.
I believe the water level prevents me from trying to use hot water or using a drain cleaner.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

do you have access to the trap under the tub...in the basement or wherever?
If so, you can take the trap loose and check it fopr obstructions, and also it's alot easier to run your snake or auger from there as opposed to trying to get it through the trap from above.
