Toilet runs

My toilet bowl constantly runs from the left side under the rim. The bowl does not fill up, so I guess it runs out. Flapper is new, as is all else. Why is this running?

You may have calcium build up an the other side and the part that the flapper seats to may need to be replaced.

Turn off the water supply and then flush the toilet. Lift up the flapper and feel the surface that the flapper sits on. Wipe it off to get any build-up off the seating surface. Turn the water back on and see if it's better. The bowl doesn't fill up because the internal toilet trap allows only enough water to seal itself and the rest goes down the drain. Make sure when you turn the water back on to look and see if the water level in the tank is correct. Water may be going out the overflow tube and not the flapper seal. If so, adjust the level. Good luck.

Hello, A possible reason for the toilet to leak is because the overflow
hose from the ball**** goes to far down into the overflow tube and the
pressure of the water prevents the flapper from seating properly.
Another reason could be with the hose to far down in the overflow
tube,it will siphon water out of the tank.
To check remove the hose from the overflowtube. If that was your
problem hook the hose to the top of the overflow tube.
Good Luck Woodbutcher
