Price-Pfister shower diverter on 3 valve system
Hi, Diverter valve won't divert all of water to shower head any more. Can I remove the diverter stem by just removing the packing nut and simply turning out while pulling on the stem? Or would I have to remove the bonnet also? The reason I ask is that in order to remove the bonnet, I will have to remove some ceramic tiles. Don't really want to if I can avoid it. I have a small jpeg (56kb) exploded parts diagram to attach here that would help understand my question but this is my first post here and for some reason I am not allowed to include attachments. How can I get permission to include attachments? Here is a link to the diagram.

Mine is the "01 Series Three-Handle Tub & Shower" in the diagrams.
Thanks,
Carl

You will have to remove the diverter bonnet to gain access to the stem assembly.
This will require removing tile.
I use a dremel tool with a mini-diamond blade to open up tile walls in small areas like your situation.
This will make it easier in the future as well.
