I started to replace a faucet this weekend, and my wife said that she wanted a new sink. Being accomodating, and wanting to learn these kinds of projects, I said great. I got the old sink out. Now, I'm trying to put the new sink in, and I have some questions. First, some details: The old sink was a double basin sink, 6" deep, standard size with two equally sized square basins with the drains in the center of each basin. The new sink is still a double basin, but the basins are unevenly sized. The smaller basin is 7" deep, and is just slightly less than 1/3 of the total open area of the sink. The larger basin is 9" deep, and is just slightly more than 2/3 of the total open area of the sink. In addition, the drains are set back, rather than centered in the basins. Obviously, this requires that I rework the pipes so that they attach to the new drain positions. For the larger sink, this would be fairly trivial, in that I could simply shorten the sink drain pipe by 3", and it would meet the old coupling perfectly. But here's the problem - the garbage disposal attaches to the smaller sink, and is now 1" lower than it was on the old sink. Its disposal tube is now lower than the coupling to which it used to attach, so connecting it is going to be a bit of a pain. Okay, so, here are my questions: 1. Can I attach PVC pipe directly to ABS pipe? If not, what do I need to get to connect them? 2. Does the drain trap need to be positioned relative to the clean-out? Currently, the bottom of the trap is level with the center of the clean-out. If I could simply lower the trap 2" or 3", that would simplify the effort a LOT. However, I have a concern that the trap does need to be level with or above the clean-out, and that lowering to a point below the clean-out would cause something to function incorrectly. Any help and\or information anyone can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, The toliet in the office no longer flushes. The handle feel a little loose, but I don't know that thats the problem. Its a ceramic toliet with a chrome flusher "thing." I called some pluber and from what I described they said to adjust a nut onthe backside of the handle, but I found no nut. They said if that wasn't it then we would have to replace the toliet ("when there worn out there worn out") at a cost between $700-$800. Any help information anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Greg
