affordable tubs

We are purchasing an older home. I would love to replace the existing tub with a pedestal tub but I am having a hard time finding an inexpensive one. Any suggestions would be great, Thanks!

If you are buying this home to live in, then why go with cheap fixtures? Especially since a tub is not easily replaced if you find that "inexpensive" was not the best purchase in the long run. That old saying " You get what you pay for" is not always true but for the amount of work and cost of replacing a tub I would save a little more money and go with a quality tub. Just MY opinion. Good luck on whichever way you go.

Maybe I should have been more specific about the price range, the least expensive I've found was $1,500. This is our first home and we have a limited budget to fix it up. I do not want poor quality. I was only trying to get some ideas on where to look to find this particular style of tub, hopefully for under $1,000.

Are you talking about a claw foot style of tub?

They are basically the same as claw foot tubs, however instead of four feet it sits on top of a central base, or pedestal.
