Shower pressure fine but not hot enough

I have a combination boiler that works perfectly and produces piping hot water at a good pressure. In my bathroom both the bath and shower are fed by the same mixer tap, which will only produce moderately warm water at it's hottest setting. I think that if I could reduce the amount of cold being mixed in with the hot then my problem would be solved. I cannot see any sign of how to adjust the thermostat in the mixer tap; the hot and cold pipes come up through the floor and are both connected directly to the mixer tap. Any suggestions?

Not sure what type of faucet set-up you have but I have seen the single knob control styles with built in scald-guard. Had to take the handle off and there was an adjusting screw inside to change the max hot water flow. Good luck and post back.

I managed to unscrew the faucet (Sirrius fully themostatic) and removed various other bits until the final removable bit which looked like it may be an active component. It looks like a copper mushroom with a metal pin sticking out of the top which is encased in rubber apart from the tip, and is about an inch long. On the copper 'stem' of the mushroom is '0156 2G 177'. Sadly no obvious screws to tweak.

If I remove the copper mushroom thermostat thingy from the faucet then the water temp is controlled by the boiler setting, and not by the faucet at all. I can now have a piping hot shower, but I can't adjust the temperature from the bathroom. Think I need a new themostat thingy! Many thanks.
