toilets running at random times

I have three toilets in my house, and recently, they've all started running on their own at random times for just a few seconds. It only happens to one toilet at a time. Where should I start looking for the problem? Thanks! Heather

Replace all three flappers.
Clean the flapper seat with steel wool or SOS pad.
Shorten the chains on the new flappers to where it just allows them to close and seal fully.
If the overlfow tubes have little L-shaped brackets at the bottom, snip out the flapper rubber rings and attach them by their rubber "ears" on those brackets. Works better that way.
Good luck!

Thank you, Mike! I'll try that tomorrow.
