Low Shower Pressure

I have very low pressure out of the showerhead. There is also a lot of water coming out of the spout. I replaced the showerhead but it only slightly improved the pressure. I recently started to notice water on the bathroom floor and that the wall next to the tub is wet. Is the fix as simple as fixing/replacing the shower diverter? Or do I have bigger problems?

Any thoughts? Thanks for your help in advance.

First thing we need to know is if the diverter is on the spout or a seperate handle? If seperate then we need the brand name of your diverter.
If it is on the spout then you can change the whole spout. Look under the spout and see if there is a slot. If so then there is a screw that you have to loosen to pull the spout off. If no slot then it is screwed on and you can unscrew it by turning it counter-clockwise.(get a grip as close to the wall as you can to prevent twisting the pipe inside. Also you will have to cut any silicone caulk that is around the spout.) Good luck and post back.

FAST answer. Take the old spout with you and get one that the inside threads are the same distance from the back end of the spout. Wrap 3 or 4 wraps of teflon tape (clockwise) onto the threads and screw on. DONE. (except recaulking around the spout to prevent leaks from running out the hole in the tub) Good luck.

I'm an idiot

I goofed. My diverter is a third knob. I can't find anything that says the manufacturer. I removed the screw from the knob but the knob won't come off. I then basically unscrewed the escuthceon and it slid up far enough for me to unscrew what I guess is a sleeve but something is still connected. I can't figure out how to remove the diverter. Any ideas?

Thanks again for your help.

You might try an inexpensive handle-puller to remove the diverter knob.
Can you see if it has a retaining clip or anything like that?
