Glacier Bay faucet

I installed Glacier Bay model 955 faucets a few years ago. Love them! However, my wife turned one on yesterday and water spewed from the lift rod hole! I can't figure out how the water is getting there...Any ideas? The faucet uses ceramic valves...one each for hot and cold. The spout is seperate

here's a link to installation with a diagram....http://www.glacierbayfaucet.com/pdf/..._102-955_E.pdf
Any help will be appreciated....Thorney

Glacier Bay brand faucets are the economy brand sold at the big box stores.

Sounds like a pinhole in the casting of the brass body of faucet finally gave in.

Pinholes are caused by sand left in the product during casting. Sometimes this can cause an imperfection in the material, thus over time cancering out to close the hole back up.

But then sometimes they won't, and replacement is the only option.

Pull assembly apart to see if this is the problem.

We had numerous problems with them when I worked at Lowe's years ago.
