Need info/advise on a new shower for old bath

House built in 69 with no shower. Tile walls around porcelen tub. I know, I spelled it wrong.

We had a new tub spigot put in that had the place to attach a screw type shower head. We then mounted it to the wall and put up backsplash walls since the tile didn't go high enough for a shower.

We are now considering doing it right, actually HAVING it down right and having a real shower put in. This one doesn't get a lot of pressure.

But there is tile on the other side of the wall too from the other bathroom. It may not be easy to get in the wall to put in new pipes unless we tear out some tile. I might consider this in the other bathroom since it's behind my toilet.

BUT I heard that there is some kind of true plumbing that can be done on the outside? Like a real water line and a real shower head put up?

I can't find this pictured anywhere to know what it will look like.

Is it worth tearing up the tile to do or should I just do this outside thing? Anyone know what this looks like or who sells it?

Don't know what it looks like, but in todays times, it will be best to tear out and redo it. It will look nicer and increase value on the home.
