Convert a garden tub to a jacuzzi
Hi everybody, I'm new and I have a month off and I am looking for a project.
Ten years ago +/-, I bought a mobile home with a gatrden tub in the master bedroom and it's pretty lame. I was staring at it the other day and it occurred to me that I could add a pump and some jets and maybe a heater and it would be better. I'm thinking that I could put a breaker on the service dedicated to power and I have some ideas about plumbing but I thought I would find a forum and start a thread to fish for ideas. Is this plan practical, worth doing? Where could I find resources: plans, parts, etc? The world won't end if it doesn't get done but it might be fun. Any ideas?

Are talking about making a whirlpool type tub from a standard type one?
Sounds like a terrible idea, but go for it.
Visit your local big box store and they should have whirlpool type tubs on display.
You can see how they pipe waterlines alongside the tub.
Another resource would be to investigate how hottubs are done.
Similar concept.
Good luck.
Have a backup plan for getting yourself clean, I suspect
your tub won't be useable until you buy a new one.

JPicasso it probably is a terrible idea, but maybe I should be more specfic. There is a regular bathtub in the second bathroom and a shower in the master bedroom next to the tub.
The garden tub is about 6 feet in diameter and the water heater does not heat enopugh to fill it up. Really it is a waste and my wife uses it to pile crap in. I want to make it into a whirlpool and keep it maintained with warm water that I can jack the heat up on and turn the jets on when I want a soak.
I have also considered looking for a reasonably good claw foot bath tub to put in place of the garden tub. I remember a time when there was no cow pasture without one, life has changed.
