New shower head...very little pressure..new standard?

We put in a new shower head. I know that the pressure to the head is great since our old shower head was fune...just ugly. The plumber indicated that there is a new flow restricter on shower heads. Are there no shower heads available to give a good flow of water pressure?

thanks

mkforstrom, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
The energy guys are regulating everything now days. Showerheads and even shower valves are limited to 2-1/2 gallons a minute. I had a Waterpic head that was regulated but it gave great pressure when set to certain flow patterns. I have heard that the restrictors are removable but not sure how to do it. Guess you would have to remove it and see whats inside. Good luck.

Take the shower head off, look inside it, you will see the restrictor, it can be removed with a pick.
