Canadian toilet?

Ever since our old toilet was replaced some 8 or 9 years ago the new low water use one perodically clogs We keep a plumbers helper n site ready for use. My theory is that sometimes we produce a big egg and it doesnt make it thru the smaller waste output spots.

Frankly were sick of this problem espically after the other day when the toilet clogged, flush valve malfunctioned and didnt shut off... water valve to toilet didnt work and bathroom flooded, with water in the kitchen below.

I was afraid to attempt replacing that valve, as the pipe goies into the ceramic tile floor.

Well surprise so was plumber, so he replaced valve stem, and installed a brass flush valve assembly. those plastic ones are junk if you ask me....

I am thinking of a quick trip to canada to pick up a older style water waster that hopefully wouldnt clog at every little opportunity. after talking with friends this appears a common problerm...

any advise before I take the plunge? so to speak...

There are better flushing toilets out there, American Standard has one called The Champion that guarantees you never have to use the plumbers helpers again.

Some of the lower priced 1.6 gallon toilets are not glazed all the way through the trap. This causes roughness that makes solids hang up on them. As Plumber2000 said, there are low flow toilets that are built well. Good luck.

Not all reviews are bad.

There are others out there, there's Toto, then there are the Power Flush Toilets, but hay, if you really want to make a trip to Canada, it's your choice, the cost for the trip and bring it back, not sure where your at, but to me it's not worth the hassles.

Maybe take that vacation you was wanting, go to Canada.

Why not go to a salvage yard, bet they will have some old style toilets they would just love to sell you.

I am in pittsburgh and have a old friend in detroit so the trip isnt a waste, although I guess it would help get rid of waste

I just want a reliable no nonsense no hassle toilet that doesnt clog and doesnt wake the house when flushed
