new toilet/mystery drip

I just installed a new toilet, Jacuzzi 1.6 gallon, and while it seems to be working perfectly I can hear a constant dripping sound in the basement which seems to be coming from directly under the toilet. No signs of water leaking onto the flooring from either the supply line or the toilet. Can't hear the drip from inside the bathroom at all and the water level in the tank & the bowl are staying constant, not leaking down, so I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm hearing. BTW, the drip doesn't sound like water hitting water, rather like water hitting a hard surface. Any idea what's going on here?
Thanks!

If possible, I would turn off the supply to the toilet and flush it (getting as much water out of the tank as possible). Let it sit for a while and then go to the basement to see if you still hear the dripping noise. This will confirm if it is coming from the toilet or possibly in the wall. Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply! Well, it's coming from the toilet. The wall behind the toilet is still open to the bare studs so I can see the supply line and it's not leaking. What are the other possiblities?

I was able to get my ear against the closet bend under the toilet last night...
thank goodness it's a new one ... and what I'm hearing is water hitting the bottom of the bend. I'm assuming that the water must be coming from the bowl so, is this just an adjustment issue? Too high a water level in the bowl?
Thanks again!

It does sound like the level is too high or the flapper has a small leak. Should just be an adjustment. Good luck.
