A Tale of Two Toilets.

I have two toilets with problems. The first one has a horrible leak from the tank into the bowl. I think this is just a bad flapper?

The 2nd one, you have to hold down the lever for about 5 seconds for it to flush. If you just press and release, it will not flush. What is the problem?

You are probably correct about #1 toilet. Replace the flapper...after you check to make sure the chain isn't holding the flapper up enough to cause the leaking. # 2 also may be cured with chain adjustment. Leave just enough slack to allow the flapper to seal. If you have a water saver toilet (1.6 gallon) make sure you get the proper flapper. Sounds strange but the flapper for the old style and new water efficient toilets are different in the way they work. Good luck.
