anti syphon hissing

We have an old American Standard toilet that is acting up with a hissing noise when the tank has filled up with water. Is ths the anti syhphon part at the top of the toilet that is the culprit. the ball **** and stopper have been replaced and seem to be trapping the water in just fine.

Please advise

thanks

Dave

It sounds like the fill valve is trying to let more water in. Try adjusting the shut-off with the ball arm. Should be a screw at the top of the fill valve that the arm attaches to. Turn it clockwise a little bit and see if the noise stops. Good luck.
