Tub Spout Leaking

Tub Spout Leaking
I'm trying to put a new tub spout on a 1/2" copper pipe. The plumbling is older so it doesn't have any threads. I've tried the universal tub spout which provide adaptors to for the pipe with plumbers tap and o-rings, but the spout still drips. Any suggestions?

If the spout is dripping out the front end (discharge end) its not the seal but the washers on the handle(s). If it is leaking out the back end (at the wall or tub) try using some plumbers grease or even vaseline on the "O" rings. Sometimes a dry surface will pinch or roll the ring as you try to install the spout. Good luck.
