need caulk?

need caulk?

We just installed a new tub and had tile put above it, the tile is grouted do i need to caulk where the tub meets the tile? If so what is the best caulk to use

Use a waterproof silicone caulk. You didn't say what material the tub was. Fiberglass and plastic tubs wil sometimes flex. When you caulk, fill the tub with water first. As full as you can get it. This will simulate someones weight in the tub and it will flex to the low point. Leave the water in the tub until the caulk cures fully. By doing this, the caulk will not seperate when someone steps into the tub and the flexing occurs. Grout is solid and therefore is not used as a seal where the tub and tile meet. You need the caulk.
