Location of drain trap
I'm changing the location of a drain for a shower. just moving it from and end to the middle. Does the trap need to be directly below the drain? the easiest move for me would be to leave the trap where it is and angle the piping above the trap over to the middle of the shower instead of moving the entire trap.
Thanks

Codes usually dictate the distance from opening to trap, usually within a couple feet.
Just remember that the farther you put that trap from the drain opening, the chances for smell/odor to emit from the piping is greater.
