Tub drainage

First time post!
Our tub is draining REAL slow. I don't think it is a clog, though, since it went from draining real good to draining real slow very quick. I have checked other posts and they mostly talk about the kind of drain stopper that has the lever on the wall of the tub. Ours does not, it is just the little stopper that screws off and you just push it up and down to plug it up. No overflow drain either. Is it possible that this stopper is jammed half open? Should I try snaking it JUST in case there is some sort of clog? Any info is much appreciated!

I would remove the drain stopper and see if hair is clogging the crossbars inside the chrome drain piece.

If not, then remove the overflow cover and access the drain with a drain cable to correct the problem.
