HELP! I cut a shower pan membrane when redoing walls that were water damaged. I sliced it down to the floor. I am terrified that I might have to replace the shower pan to fix this gaffe. Please someone redeem me with an alternative. Its in a shower with mortar/tiled floor, built in the 1980's.

I recently had to replace my hot water heater. Shortly after replacing it, I noticed that the hot water in my downstairs bath didn't shut completely off. The only way to shut it off is to have both hot and cold running and shut the hot off (forcefully) first. Now the same problem is beginning in my upstairs bath. Both baths have had the faucets changed in the last year, and had no problem prior to the water heater change. I did notice some noise in the lines when first putting on the water. Relieving some pressure in the hot water heater did help the issues, but seemed to be only temporary (as the problem started again the next day). Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.... :wall:
