Whistling shower

Whistling shower
just installed a new mirror that attaches before the shower head. So its the pipe that comes in from the wall, the mirror attachment and then the shower head. After the install and when I turned on the shower it now makes a whistling noise. VERY ANNOYING. What is this noise and how do I make it stop? Thanks for any help you guys give.

The noise is vibration between flowing water and some restriction. Much like how wind instruments make noise. There could be a foreign or misaligned object in there, or the new fitting may be a poor design. Accelerating the flow with water conservation fittings could aggravate this.

Remove the showerhead and turn on the water. If the noise disappears, there is/was something (maybe teflon tape) in the flow. Replace the tape and try again. Good luck.
Backflush the showerhead while you have it off.

Also one thing about the noise..... I do notice that when I turned down the water pressure using the screw on the pipe where the water comes into the house that it does lessen and sometimes stops the noise and if I turn more pressure that it makes louder noise. Also can a loose connection be the cause? I do have a slight drip coming in from the first connection but I can't turn the darn thing any tighter. Thanks again

What I meant by bach-flushing was to run water through it from the end where the holes are to see if something got caught in them when you added the mirror. (debris that might have broken off the pipe )
As Kobuchi said, it could be something vibrating. Such as a washer in the faucet handle or an "O" ring in the cartridge if you have a single handle faucet. Lowering the pressure makes it vibrate less.

A "loose" connection is the most likely cause of vibration. It could be a rubber ring or other widget that didn't seat properly (twisted or loose inside the pipe) - this might also cause that drip you mentioned.
Odd anything in a tightly fit shower arm assembly would drip. If that drip increases with the water on, there might be something blocking flow so the water's forced to find another way out. You didn't remove the pipe coming out of the wall. So I suggest taking off just the mirror and showerhead as one piece, then try blowing through it. It should be clear enough to breathe through.

I did take the shower head off and ran the water with just the mirror on and no noise. Then I remembered when I first bought the shower head that it did make that noise. Where I lowered the pressure is on the shut-off valve. There is a screw there that I turned that can increase and decrease the pressure as you probebly know. I inspected the shower head and cleaned it really good and same noise. It does come and go now though so makes it a little better. My wife gets it all the time she takes a shower and it only makes noise for about 5 seconds when I take it so she is mad at me
women get mad at stupid things sometimes
