toilet flush sounds like a drill then stops when done

My master bath toilet makes this sound when it flushes. It seems to be the part that has the black ball floater on the end....when it moves it makes the noise. It has never done this before. The toilet flushes just fine and there isn't any other problem. Any ideas? I am stumped!

jkr1971, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
It would appear that your fill valve is going bad. I would replace it with a Fluidmaster 400A fill valve. About $6 at Home Centers. Comes with really good instructions for installation. Good luck.
