Bathtub install w no access to drain fitings

Greetings, I want to install a new tub in an apartment. The problem is that I don't have access to the fitings because the side of the tub is covered and the drain side of the tub is against a wall that all of the plumbing is located. I read somewhere in this forum that I need to have access to one or the other. Since this does not seem to be possible in my case, is it ok to build a platform out of lumber to lift the tub up enough to access the fittings under the tub and then tile over the opening when the fittings are tight? Is there a better way?

thesilverman109, Welcome to the DIY Forums.

You can build a platform to place the tub on. You will have to insure the platform is able to hold the massive weight of a tub filled with water + the weight of the person using the tub. This is why tubs are installed over floor/ceiling joists with added supports. Water weighs 7 1/2lbs/gal, 62.4 LBS/CFT.

Good luck and reply back if you have further questions
