Lack of hot water on 1 handle shower

Hello all,

I have a shower in a bathroom right next to my utility closet (w/ water heater). The shower has one handle and does not get as hot as my other shower or sinks in the house, so I know the hot water heater is working. A friend recommended I change the cartridge in the faucet.

My questions are:
- Does this sound like a plausible solution?
- Is it an easy job to do for someone with little DIY/plumbing experience?
- Could there be another possible problem that I should be aware of?

Thank you very much.

MillerDIY, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
I agree with whoever mentioned the cartridge. It is a DIY project. All you need is the name of the faucet and possibly a Model number. Normally, instructions are provided with the cartridge. If not, there are websites for all the major manufacturers. Good luck.
